Chompsaw

What it is

A powered cardboard saw that does not cut skin. Children use it from age 5, once inducted, with an adult at the table.

Instructions

1. Empty the dust drawer before starting.
2. Flat surface, arrows pointing away from you. Switch off, then plug in. It is corded and needs a socket.
3. Switch on and wait up to 10 seconds for full speed.
4. Cardboard flat on the mat, white line on the cutting head aligned with the cut.
5. Both hands, steady pressure, push away from you.
6. For a curve, rotate the card. Never sideways.
7. Switch off as soon as the cut ends.
8. Empty the drawer again at least every 30 minutes.

Technique

Cardboard is pre-cut in advance to 3 mm or less, so nobody judges thickness at the table. Double wall is set aside, never forced through.

Safety

• Do not touch the cutting head just after use, it is hot.
• A red blinking light means it has overheated: off for at least 30 minutes.
• Do not cut over tape or glue.
