The three days

Friday 28 August

13:15 – 14:00 Friday congregational prayerJumu’ah. The building is full, halls included, and clears from around 15:00.

The room

Room: The large room, ground floor. The fair runs across two halls; iOi is in one, in the section drawn above.

Powered cardboard saws made for children: the head nibbles rather than slices, so it does not cut fingers or snag hair. A child does the cutting, with an adult alongside at all times.

What is on the table

From age 5 · iOi’s line.

Not for children. A parent may use these once a facilitator has shown them how, or a facilitator will do the join for them. Volunteers the same, once inducted.

What is on the table

Glue guns · corded, and hot. There are two, and they are the only two iOi has, used across every activity.
Rotary tool · the drill bit only, nothing else fitted. Collet and spanner, not a keyless chuck: hold the spindle lock and turn the nut anticlockwise.
A socket and a USB-C point · the glue guns are corded; the rotary tool charges by USB-C.

What this still needs

Quiet Creative Space has no type. Sensory is provisional. Helen has described it since: Alien Ecosystems.
LEGO cars has no steps written.
The tool induction has no time. It is on the Monday board as an on-the-day job, Liber’s.
No cover for a station while its facilitator is away. Jen on Support is the only person not tied to one.
Two of the four confirmed volunteers have no station. Both are morning.
13:00 to 13:45 has no volunteer at all, and the afternoon has one against the morning’s three on the longer half of the day.
Jason, Eliza and Rachel are interested, not confirmed. Rachel has no half against her name.
Where the sockets are. Five are needed, possibly six, and four were asked of ELM. The full list of asks is questions-for-elm.md.
No assembly point. The fire exits are drawn; where people go is not.
No photo permission process.
How breaks work, with the hall too busy to empty for one.
Still to pack or print: wipes for phones, signs, reference sheets, the facilitator and volunteer guides.
Quantities are not recorded for any row on the packing list, so none is written.
On the packing list: where the safety pins go, what the magnets are for, whether the impact forms are the feedback forms already on the materials list, which is a separate question from the incident forms, and whether the rope and the string on that list are the same thing.
